How to connect a power LED

Powerful LED differs from the usual indicator we have much more current. Therefore, to limit the current directly to the resistor is no longer rational, since the dissipation power of this resistor increases and can reach tens or more watts. The simplest way to limit and stabilize the current of a powerful LED is the use of the LM317 chip. This chip does its job well, up to a power dissipation of 20 W on its own crystal. In addition, the maximum current LM317 reaches 2.2 A.
In this video, all the necessary calculations are made, allowing to connect the powerful LED to the LM317 unerringly. Calculations are given for LEDs power of 1W and 0.5W.
