How to do Ashtanga Yoga's Laghuvajrasana | Little Thunderbolt Pose

Don’t let this pose fool you. Laghuvajrasana might seem simple but in this video, you’ll find out why it’s actually a lot more challenging than it looks!

In this tutorial, we’re showing you how to do LAGHUVAJRASANA / LITTLE THUNDERBOLT POSE from Ashtanga’s second series, the Intermediate Series. We break it down with the traditional vinyasa cues and Sanskrit count so you know to enter and leave this pose. You’ll discover why it’s not actually more of a backbend than Ustrasana / Camel pose and how to ease into it safely, with correct actions and alignment cues for different body types and injury prevention.
