How to draw a Buffalo/Bison pencil drawing on 110lb cardstock. (8.5" x 11")

I first start by sketching a rectangle and a few guidelines with a HB pencil then I begin to draft out the Bison/Buffalo and gradually apply shading and details with the side and tip of the pencil.
