Follow
Lando Marsh Art

This is a complete minicourse of four realtime videos with full voiceover, showing you the complete process of drawing a realistic female portrait from scratch, with graphite pencils. This video is part 1 of 4.

First, I'll show you how to draw the basic proportions of the face using a simple method. Then I'll cover the basic outlines of the facial features: drawing eyes, eyebrows, nose, mouth/lips, jawline, basic face shape.

Next, I'll show you how to draw the detailed elements of the face. This is where we'll add the details to the eyes, eyelashes, eyebrows, nose, mouth/lips.

Then I'll cover how to shade a face. I'll show you how to achieve a perfect shading effect for skin, as well as how to blend the skin texture for a really realistic effect. We'll also add highlights and texture.

Finally, I'll show you how to draw hair, using a minimalistic, simple approach.

All in all, you'll have a complete guide in how to draw a realistic portrait.

I hope you enjoy it :)
