About this video:

Good day, friends, and welcome back to another texture sketching tutorial! In this video, I’ll show you how you can easily draw concrete using gray marker pens, a fine liner, white Prismacolor, and some graphite.

Concrete is a very easy material to sketch since it doesn’t reflect its surroundings like glass or polished metal. This means the color of the surfaces is straightforward to draw, and you’ll only need to add some quick details to make it look very realistic.

For this project, I also wanted to show you the difference between cool and warm gray tones. As you can see, the cool tones have a much more sober and neutral look than the warm ones. The warm tones, however, can be very useful if you’re sketching concrete for an outdoor project since the concrete will receive direct sunlight. The added details like pores and shadows are done the same way for both tones.

Let me know your thoughts, and if you try a similar sketch, please share how it went! As always, thank you so much for watching. If you liked what you saw and want to see more sketching videos, don’t forget to subscribe, like, and share!

Have a great day!

David
