Here's a stepbystep guide to creating a 12fold rosette pattern based on a hexagon grid that includes some extended design elements beyond the rosette itself. I learnt this from Eric Broug's wonderful book, 'Islamic Geometric Design' it's a wealth of knowledge for anyone interested in Islamic art and is something I refer to very often when working in this form.
