The freezer method is probably the easiest method for removing wax from jars.

1hour in freezer the wax should free itself from the jar but the adhesive on the wick bases may still be stuck.
2 hours in freezer The wax and adhesive should be separated from jar. Pry out the wax or hit the jar face down on your palm to release it. The wax may be cracked.

The may be loose if you just insert it back in the jar. If you want the wax to stick to a new jar you may want to add some hot wax to the bottom of the empty jar before inserting the wax. You can also add some glue or double sided stickers to the wick bases.
