Welcome to my Youtube channel and this video features how to find a RNFA surgical preceptor.

If you didn't know me yet, I am a Registered Nurse working in med/surg telemetry, occupational health, and surgical optometry. I am also a (RNFA) Firstassist DNP student based in UMass Medical School in Worcester, MA where I will be specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Sample template of how I write my emails to find preceptors:

Good Morning Dr._______,

My name is ______ and I am a RN as a DNP student at ________. I am starting the Registered Nurse First Assist program at ________ by this fall and I am looking for a cardiothoracic surgeon who would be willing to precept for 270 hours total combined hours starting in Spring of _____? I found your email in the Dept of Cardiac Surgery and Cardiac Surgery/Cardiothoracic Surgery is the field that I am determined to enter as a first assist nurse practitioner upon completion of my program.

If you have any leads as to whom I could approach for this if this possible, I would sincerely appreciate it! If you would like more information about what the RNFA program is. Attached in this email is a link to the website! If you have any additional questions about me as well, feel free to let me know!
