Fixing mistakes in brioche knitting is actually fairly simple once you understand how the fabric is created. You can basically "ladder up" with a crochet hook but you always need to pull the stitch through two extra yarn overs. That's the whole trick.
For more complicated mistakes I always recommend tinking (knitting backwards) especially if you missed an increase or decrease. These stitches either create more or less yarn in your fabric and you cannot simply add it back without controlled unraveling to that spot.
