It may help to use some dielectric grease after you have done a clean out with the switch cleaner. This should leave the stick feeling super smooth. (Thanks to NathanN14Nismo20 in the comments below!)

A fix for the "sticky" or unresponsive left analogue stick. Big problems in FPS games with sprint and such. Make sure to use "Electrical Switch Cleaner" NOT WD40.
