It's still really important to clean the areas in between teeth, as brushing alone cannot remove the plaque from these areas effectively. Floss is one technique of removing plaque interdentally. Alternatively you could use interdental brushes.

If you floss incorrectly, it may not be effective, and can actually cause unnecessary trauma to the gums. Remember to wrap the floss around the side of the tooth to scrape the plaque from in between teeth.
