How to get a raise during performance reviews ✅

Performance review time can be stressful (to say the least) here’s how you can make it a lil less so ⬇

When I worked a corporate 95 job at a professional services firm, we had a very detailed process for our ‘selfassessment’. And in order to get a high rating, and in turn a higher raise or bonus or potentially a promotion, you had to be able to show exactly how you met all of the expectations of your role across multiple categories, and ideally how you went above and beyond.

But 12 months is a long time to remember everything you did sooo how do you remember?

I recommend creating a ‘professional tracker’ here, you’ll include every project or key task you complete. Write down who you worked with, what your role was, and what impact you made. Then, anytime someone gives you feedback (via email, verbally, or an instant message), write that down next to the project it related to.

Then, at the end of the year, take those detailed notes and use them to create the format your manager or company wants to see. I usually made a quick, high level slide deck to show my manager, too.

Good luck with your performance reviews this year!
