I met three wonderful people while filming this video. Maeghan, Kayla and Wendy, if you see this you're amazing and I hope you have a great day :)
Okay so this beautiful tree behind me is Eucalyptus, a highly aromatic member of the Myrtaceae family (Myrtles), commonly referred to as Gum trees, is a survivor. It's a longlived tree that produces a complicated brown structure which creates a great focal point in any large scale garden. I highly recommend planting it as a standalone specimen tree, as it doesn't like having too much competition. One thing I MUST mention, is that this is a plant that likes dry conditions. By far the easiest way to kill a Eucalyptus tree is too water it too much. This tree is fairly disease tolerant but keep a look on the leaves because it is susceptible to Downey mildew. This Aussie evergreen tree should reward you with many years of colorful exfoliating bark and silverblue dollar shaped foliage. Some varieties I recommend include Eucalyptus gunnii, (Cider Gum), a smaller variety that looks really good in winter bouquets and wedding floral arrangements, as well as Eucalyptus radiata for a more natural, forest type of environment. It has longer leaf blades and is more heat tolerant. It is, however more prone to root rot issues. Eucalyptus camaldulensis, also known commonly as the river red gum, has really pretty white flowers that erupt in mid january in the south, and kid August in the north. I highly recommend that one too:) have a good day folks and let me know if you have any questions! Stay blessed:)
