I've suffered from chronic pain issues and depression for nearly 10 years, and I found this particular lecture by Jordan Peterson extremely relevant and helpful.

In my experience, accepting life's suffering voluntarily and continuing towards a meaningful goal anyway has been the only effective alleviation from constant pain. It does not make pain or emotional stress go away, but it makes life more bearable and worth the struggle.

A central motivating drive for me now is generating wealth for my family through trading. It's what gets me out of bed with enthusiasm every morning.

If you suffer from a chronic illness or injury then the best thing you can do for yourself is to orient yourself towards a meaningful goal and keep on with your life anyway in spite of your limitations. It is the ultimate hero story.

Don't give up, and never give in!
