You need a degree to immigrate to Canada, right? Wrong. Due to their vastly expanding economy, a wide array of skills are in huge demand in Canada. Often these skills are in professions that don’t require degrees, so quality work experience, training and skills are highly sought after in Canada.

As a result, there are dozens of ways to move to Canada for people with various skill types and levels. Here are just six popular ways to move to Canada without a degree.

Express Entry
The Express Entry system is Canada’s most popular route for skilled workers and their families to immigrate to Canada. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need a degree to be eligible for Express Entry.
You can qualify for numerous Express Entry Programs with a high school, postsecondary certificate or diploma.

Provincial Nominee Programs
Eleven of Canada’s thirteen provinces have specified Provincial Nominee Programs to help workers immigrate to each province to fill the gaps in their labour market.

Alberta
British Columbia
Manitoba
New Brunswick
Nova Scotia
Northwest Territories
Newfoundland and Labrador
Ontario
Prince Edward Island
Quebec
Saskatchewan
Yukon

Most of these programs do not necessarily require a university degree. However, you will likely need a job offer to qualify.

Atlantic Immigration Pilot
The Atlantic Immigration Pilot or AIP is a specific immigration pilot program for skilled workers to immigrate to one of Canada’s Atlantic provinces.

Prince Edward Island
New Brunswick
Newfoundland and Labrador
Nova Scotia

The AIP has programs like the Atlantic Intermediateskilled Program that do not require a degree to qualify.

The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP)
If you are interested in moving to one of 11 participating rural cities and towns in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia, the RNIP is for you.

The Agrifood Pilot
The Agrifood pilot helps skilled agricultural, animal production, meat processing and manufacturing workers who often don’t have degrees find permanent residency in Canada.

The Home Care Provider Pilots
Canada has two specific Home Care Provider Pilots to help home support workers and child care providers live and work in Canada.
