► THIS VIDEO will talk about how to insert an IV (Intravenous Catheter). It will go through the steps needed to properly insert an IV. It will show you how to prepare, by putting on gloves, applying the tourniquet and clearning the insertion site with alcohol. Also it will show you how to assess veins and give you valuable tips on vein selection. In the end the video will showcase a hands on demonstration of inserting an IV on a live patient.

► ABOUT THE PROF: Samantha Rhea MSN, RN has been a nurse since 2008 and a nursing faculty teacher since 2012. She has been recognized for clinical excellence as an interventional cardiology nurse and also led a Joint Commission Accredited Stroke Center. Ms. Rhea is an awardwinning expert in clinical teaching and continues to maintain a current clinical practice and teaches at a University nursing program.
