How To Keep Yourself Talking On Stream

Throughout the week you should be taking notes, planning talking points, things to fall back on so that you don’t find yourself with nothing to say.

I have a channel point redeem called “Give Me A Protip” so I need to write two pro tips per stream for that, so I plan those out. Every stream needs a question of the day, so I write questions to ask chat, this also keeps them engaged talking about the QOTD.

Weird things that happen at the supermarket I write down, customer support stories from hell, you name it. I write them down and workshop them a bit to find the funniest or most engaging way to tell them.

How To Engage Your Viewers To Chat

My first tip for chat engagement is using a Question Of The Day command, I cover it in my cloudbot video, but in my chat, if you go there right now and type !QOTD it will spit back a relatable openended question for you to answer, I change this manually for every stream.

Say someone does the command, they give an answer, and then I can ask them more about that. The whole chat can join in the conversation, and it will flow naturally from there.

If someone does a QOTD or even asks me a question, it’s important to build on the conversation, For example, say they answer that their favorite movie is Mulan, Don't just go, “Oh, you like Mulan… nice.” or “My favorite movie is Aladdin” ask everyone what their favorite is, or why they like it, or what other Disney do they like.

Other ways you can engage chatters, especially people who have just clicked your stream is by using titles that spark conversation.

The style of this video is similar to Alpha Gaming and Gaming Careers in parts. A large influence on this series has come from content creators like Wild4games and Nutty.
