Bought a Lamy Safari from an unauthorized dealer, like Amazon ( https://amzn.to/2R2jGnT ) or Ebay? You probably got a great price, but you might have concerns that your new fountain pen is a fake. Counterfeit Lamy Safari pens are a real thing, and a real problem (though they are less prevalent than knockoff Lamy AlStars).

Here are a number of qualities and attributes to look for in order to tell if your Lamy Safari fountain pen is real or not. These aren't foolproof, but if you look at them in combination with one another, you should be able to get a good idea or if your pen is real or a knockoff.
