Episode 11: Earlier this Summer in Episode 6 we managed to knock one of the roll bar lights off on a low tree hanging tree branch. Rather than just bolt on a direct replacement I swapped over to LED lights for half the cost.

In this video I show how to wire in the lights by reusing the existing plug and harness using my soldering iron and shrink wrap tubing. No flickering after splicing in.

It's quick, cheap, easy and worth doing for brighter lights. Especially if you just broke the factory ones.

Update 9/29/19: Spend the extra buck on a tube of red Locktite. Despite the locking washers we managed to rattle out each and every nut the next weekend. Locktite solved this but before that these things were like little swinging maces as you'll see in an in upcoming episode.

Note that at this resolution and frame rate the Go Pro shut down for overheating. My hope was to have the high quality video which would allow me to zoom in during post production but also the high frame rate so I could do slow motion. Looks like I will have to choose between the two. Also at this resolution Filmora running on 16gb ram, Vega 56 and 8 core AMD pulling from a 7200rpm mechanical drive really struggled during editing. Editing is smooth and seamless at 1080/120 on this hardware.
