Tired of loopy cast ons on your loom knitted items? Learn to create a nonloopy cast on using the ewrap stitch.
The cast on is done similar to the regular ewrap cast on, except you skip every other peg. On the first round when you begin the pattern, you simply pick up the ladder coming from behind the peg and place it back on the peg. Why does this work? The ewrap cast method creates extra yarn slack with each ewrap, at the end, the stitches all have a little extra yarn in between each stitch. By eliminating that extra yarn, the cast on becomes tighter/less loopy.
Note: This cast on works best with a wool base yarn.
