The most authentic and best shito is made with Ghana coconut oil.
Let's make Ghana Shito known as hot black pepper sauce with coconut oil. Shito is one of Ghana's favorite dishes, served with waakye, jollof rice, yam, potato, gari, kenke, etc.
. **NO TOMATO PASTE for this recipe*
Store in a glass jar or small containers after the shito has cooled down. Since I did not use tomato sauce or paste, this shito is safe outside the fridge. Dip with a clean spoon to prevent spoilage.

***Shito Ingredients
64 oz Ghana Coconut Oil
18 20 cloves of fresh garlic
3 cups fresh grated ginger
4 large yellow onions
4 large red onion
10 shallots
3 cups smoked herring powder
2 1/4 cup Smoke shrimp powder
2 tbsp. Rosemary powder
1 tbsp. Anise seed powder
1 tbsp. Coriander powder
5 tbsp Hot Chili pepper or to your taste
9 tbsp blended Habanero pepper or more, according to your taste
1 tbsp. Black pepper
1 tbsp Sea Salt or Kosher Salt, or add more to your taste
