In order to helicopter turn underwater, you need to know a few other scuba tricks such as frog kicking and, ideally, back kicking as well. You also need to have perfect buoyancy and remain neutrally buoyant when performing the maneuver. Helicopter turning allows you to turn in place while underwater as a scuba diver, using only your fins. You should NOT be using your hands while scuba diving, as this increases your air consumption, can be a safety hazard, and generally is extremely inefficient in terms of moving you in the water. This video teaches you how to helicopter turn in scuba diving.
