Mounting your watercolour painting onto a cradle or cradled board is a contemporary way of displaying watercolours. By fixing it to a wood panel and sealing it with wax or varnish, you get rid of the need for glass and a frame exposed watercolour if you like.
First you need to attach the painting to your cradled board with glue or acrylic medium, then trim it to size, before sealing with wax I use Dorland's Wax. It’s an easy process if you take a little care, but it takes a few days because of all the drying time.
Don't be put off the end result is fabulous!
