About OutofState Notarizations:
• Notaries can notarize any outofstate document provided they do so in the jurisdiction where they are commissioned as a Notary
• Check and correct the venue. If the venue is already included in the notary certificate, make sure it shows where the notarization took place and not some other location. If it is incorrect, cross it out and write in the correct information.
• When performing the notarization, follow all your state Notary laws. Make sure the Notary certificate complies with the requirements of your state and include any required information in your Notary journal entry.
• The laws of the Notary’s state always supersede the laws of the state where the document will be filed.
