In this pastel demonstration I show you how I paint gold without using metallic gold with PanPastels and Pastel Pencils on Pastelmat with my brush technique, which is how I work these days.

I use masking film to prevent halos around my subjects and show you how I mix colours with PanPastels if I don’t have the hue or colour.


The PanPastel colours I use are as follows:
Raw Umber group
Yellow Ochre group
Orange group
Black and Titanium White
Turquoise Group and touch of Black for the background

Pan Pastels
Pastel Pencils
Pastelmat by Clairefontaine
Glassine Paper to protect work while I was painting
Gum eraser & Kneaded eraser
Sofft Tools
Synthetic makeup brush for applying, blending and adding details.
Mask IT masking film by XPress IT
