James Shows you how to play power chords on the guitar and shows you how to play the riff for Blitzkrieg bop by the Ramones

Power chords are a more direct “Powerful” way of playing chords by eliminating “The 3rd” (the note that makes it major or minor.)

This is popular with electric guitarists using lots of distortion for a more focused sound. Power chords will use the route note played with the index finger followed by the second note played on the string below 2 frets higher.
