About 5 years ago, I decided to change the way I practice guitar. Instead of memorizing new licks, scales, and techniques I decided to focus on developing my ear through various ear training exercises to finally be able to play everything I heard in my head on guitar.

In this simple video lesson, David Wallimann will teach you how to start developing simple musical ideas using the minor pentatonic scale to sound a lot closer to your inner musician. Developing your ear to play what is in your mind is one of the most rewarding experience a guitar player can have. And it's easier than you think! Any guitar player can do it with the simple steps explained in this guitar tutorial.

The good news is that you don't need to know a bunch of music theory to do this. All you need is to be aware of what you are hearing inside. The more scales and licks you learn, the easier it gets because you will have developed new inner connection. Straightening the connection mind/ear/fingers is the key to playing better guitar solos and improvisations.
