Recovery from Surgery:
1. Ice to decrease the amount of swelling
2. At home, ice your shoulder immediately
3. Ice regularly for the next week
4. Continue icing after stretching
Nondominant Arm Practice:
1. Brushing teeth
2. Feeding yourself
3. Dressing, bathing, toileting and grooming
What to Pack:
1. Hygiene bag / cosmetic bag
2. Magazines or books
3. Smartphone, iPad, and any other device you use regularly
4. CPAP, TENS or ice machine
Two to three sets of
5. loosefitting, elasticwaistband pants
6. Oversized shirts
7. Underwear
8. Comfortable shoes and socks
The Night Before Surgery:
1. Clean linens on your bed
2. Take a shower with antibacterial soap or the recommended soap by your surgeon
3. Use clean wash cloth and towel
4. Clean pajamas
What to Bring on the Day of Surgery:
1. Insurance cards
2. Photo ID
3. List of medications, including name and dosage
4. Advance directives
What NOT to Bring on the Day of Surgery:
1. Jewelry
2. Money
