We get a ton of calls (and even some returns) involving the improper installation of a torque converter. All too often, folks get the torque converter “almost” in without it being fully seated onto the pump, and then bolt the transmission up to the block—relying on the tightening of the bellhousing bolts to force the torque converter fully into the pump. That’s a big nono, and it can cause a ton of damage to the transmission. We’ll show you how to install it the right way, and then how to properly adjust the throttle valve cable, so your transmission will deliver thousands of miles of troublefree operation.
