Skin tags are usually formed in areas where skin creases are present. They are common in armpits and around neck. They are common in people with elevated blood glucose levels.

Electric cautery and toothed forceps are used for removing skin tags as shown. The patient had tags near and around his neck.

If a skin tag is large, some local anesthesia is used before removing that. Because larger skin tags are painful to remove without local anesthesia.
