Searching for new Discord Communities is easy with Server Discovery. In this titillating HowTo video, you’ll learn where this feature is in the desktop app. Navigate to the bottom of the sidebar to find the compass icon that reads “Explore Public Servers.”

Go ham, egg and cheese on the search bar to discover featured Discord servers about anything from gaming, to music, art, student hubs, education, science, tech (short for technology), or just about any other place that you can imagine, have imagined, or ever will imagine in this temporal reality.

Once you’ve found a Discord server you want to join, you can click on it to enter “Preview Mode,” which gives you the opportunity to lurk and get a feel for the community before you join – a chance to scope things out before you decide that you want to get in on the action. Once you’re ready, just press the eponymous “Join” button and it will trigger a series of complex digital mechanisms that will seamlessly allow you to enter your new community.
