We show you how to set up and run AERSURFACE in this AERMOD training video.

AERMET requires surface characteristics that are generated by AERSURFACE, so AERSURFACE needs to be run before AERMET. EPA created AERSURFACE to determine surface characteristics from the US Geological Survey (USGS) National Land Cover Data 1992 archive (NLCD92). The NLCD92 is split into 21 categories and each category is assigned a seasonal value for the surface roughness length, albedo, and Bowen ratio.
