How to Setup Eco Tech Day and Night Dimming Reptile Thermostat (Step-by-Step)

In this video I show stepbystep how to set up your Eco Tech Day and Night Dimming thermostat. I use a Phillips 100 watt flood light from Bunnings as my heat lamp.

Where I live, in Summer, the 100 watt heat lamp running at full capacity would be too hot for my beardie, however, with the thermostats built in dimming function, the light is dulled down and is never running at full capacity. If I turn my air conditioning on, it will run the light closer to it's full capacity to heat the basking area up to 40 degrees. This is what is great about the dimming function.

There is another version of this thermostat called the Eco Tech Day and Night thermostat, and it does not have the dimming function. Instead of dimming the heat lamp, it will switch the heat lamp onandoff to maintain the temperature. If it's constantly turning on and off it can blow your bulb, and it can be difficult to maintain a stable temperature. If possible, try to get the one with the dimming feature. If you're using a ceramic heater instead of a globe, the dimming feature isn't necessary.
