This video is a vlog about our return to Paris at the end of the year from Japan and how we gradually got back to our daily life.
We were away from home for almost a month and our two cats were taken care of by a catsitter, but when we came back, nothing seemed to have changed. I was so disappointed because I had been wondering how the cat was doing every day (lol).
The end of the year in Paris means Christmas, right?! My husband took some videos of the beautifully illuminated streets. I hope enjoy them!
As we ate too much in Japan this year, I was planning to avoid the delicious food that comes with Christmas, but we received a lovely Ritz Paris Christmas cake! Well, we cannot help but to eat, right?
On New Year's Eve, we tried to imitate the French New Year's Eve dinner, where they eat very well. I made an apple blue cheese pie, which my husband loves and insists on eating every day. I've included the recipe so you can give it a try.
It's already a new year and we've finally settled into a routine. Home sweet home, right? I'm sure there will be lots of things to do this year again, but let's take it easy and move forward together!

Apple & blue cheese pie
Ingredients
1 puff pastry sheet
1 large apple (or 2 small European apples)
100 g fromage blanc (or 150 g yoghurt, drained for 3 hours)
1 egg
10 walnuts (30 g)
Pinch of salt
Pinch of pepper
100 g blue cheese (e.g. Roquefort)

Method
1 Peel, core and slice the apples into thin slices. Crack open the walnuts, remove the contents and chop them into reasonable pieces.
2 Crack the eggs into a bowl, add the fromage blanc, salt and pepper and mix well.
3 Spread a puff pastry sheet on a baking tray and spread the egg and fromage blanc mixture all over, leaving the edges of the sheet.
4 Place the apple evenly and sprinkle the walnuts all over.
5 Break the blue cheese into pieces and sprinkle evenly over.
6 Fold the edges of the pie sheet so that the filling does not run out.
7 Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C for about 30 minutes until well browned.
