In this video, we show you how to stop your home battery system from discharging into your EV charger.

In this example, we have an Alpha ESS hybrid solar and battery system.

The EV charger is the MyEnergi Zappi, but this method will work with any EV charger.

The idea behind this method is that the EV charger will be able to use excess Solarn power when available, but the battery will never see the car to discharge.

The disadvantage of the setup is that the reporting in your apps will be slightly confused so different apps will see different information.

The main advantage is you can charge your car without having to worry about the battery being emptied.

There are other workarounds for this Such as using a single manufacturer's system for all your products so that they talk together.

This is not always an option, so this workaround fixes the issue.
