Service Based Company vs Product Based Company

A service based company builds software or products only when a customer approaches them and asks for a software to be authored according to his needs. And a product based company creates products like Adobe Photoshop and they usually sell it to as many clients as possible.

A service based company is usually exclusive and customized to suit the specific needs of their clients and they won’t be shared with other clients of theirs. As an employee in a service based company will be assigned a specific role that will mostly be the same but the mindset will be very different. TCS, Wipro, Infosys are examples of service based companies.

A product based company is the company that has their own products to sell. For example: Google, Facebook, Adobe, etc. are example of product based companies, In Product Based companies, there are smaller teams, and employeefriendly policies.
