An onpremise data gateway is a tool in Power BI that allows users to securely connect their onpremise data sources to Power BI's cloudbased services. The gateway acts as a bridge between the cloudbased Power BI service and the onpremise data sources, allowing data to flow securely and reliably between the two.

The benefits of using an onpremise data gateway include the ability to access and analyze onpremise data in realtime without having to move it to the cloud, as well as the ability to securely share that data with others within the organization.
