How to Test the Bromine Levels in Your Pool - Water Chemistry

Follow
HydroWorx International Inc.

Bromine is critical to keep your HydroWorx pool's water safe and clean. Learn how to test your pool's bromine levels using a Taylor test kit.

Taylor test kit directions recommend starting the testing process with bromine testing. To test your HydroWorx pool's bromine levels, perform the following steps:

Fill the left container on the comparator with 9 mL of pool water.

Add five drops of R0001 (DPD reagent #1).

Add five drops of R0002 (DPD reagent #2). The water color should change to pink.

Put the cap on the comparator and gently swirl or shake.

Place the white piece of paper included in the Taylor test kit behind the comparator, then match the water color to a color on the comparator.

The recommended bromine level for a HydroWorx pool is 35 parts per million. On the left side of your bromine and chlorine comparator, you'll see separate columns for bromine and chlorine level readings. Use the numbers under the bromine column while reading the level. On a Taylor comparator, you'll find these numbers on the right side of the indicator squares.
