If you want to start working in France but don't have a French passport, or if you are not from the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area, you will require a work permit (EEA).
A work permit is required for the recruitment of a foreign employee who does not have a visa or residency permit that allows paid employment. The employer, whether in France or overseas, is responsible for submitting the work permit application.
First and foremost, the employer must have tried to identify a candidate who was already in France. If you do not succeed, the employer may engage you.
