Hey everybody and welcome back to another exciting and informative episode of 13 Minute AE Tutorials where you learn tips, tricks, and shortcuts in 13 Minutes or less. No BS, just AE. For this episode, I'm going to show you how to use Essential Graphics with your After Effects projects. Forget about exporting to Premiere for now this episode is going to focus on using Essential Graphics as a part of your After Effects workflow. It's not a common use of Essential Grpahics, but it really should be because it is a HUGE time saver. I created a basic design layout in After Effects and you can that project file in the description below. You can download that now, or you can create your own layout and follow along.

Okay, so two episodes ago we created color palettes using CC Libraries. Last episode, we used Essential Graphics to bring a simple lower third into Premiere, where it can be easily edited by you, your coworkers, or your clients. We also applied a cool script to that lower third, and saved it as a preset. In this episode, we are going to be staying inside of After Effects while using Essential Graphics. Keep in mind that the purpose of Essential Graphics is for creating templates inside of After Effects, and then using those templates in Premiere. While Essential Graphics is ideal for creating lower thirds, lists, and other brand assets, that's not the only use for Essential Graphics. We're going to go outside the box and see how it can be beneficial to use Essential Graphics inside of After Effects only, with no intention of using Premiere.

So, you can take advantage of Essential Graphics by using it for a purpose that it wasn't necessarily designed for, which, to me, is super exciting because I love using plugins in creative ways. And this is definitely one of those times.

I'd love to get your feedback about this course and any other topic you'd like to see covered. Don't forget to check out my new Udemy course, the Power of Shape Layers. It's a comprehensive course that literally covers every aspect of shape layers. And remember to check out the previous two episodes if you haven't done so already, so you can learn how to use CC Libraries to make color palettes, and how to use those color palettes with Essential Graphics.

Thanks for watching, everybody. I'll see you next time.
