Power BI field parameters help make your report more dynamic and save a massive amount of space in your report. They also allow for easier data exploration, particularly when used with crossfiltering. I think they're one of the best features added in the last couple of years! This video includes how to create field parameters, use two sets of them in a visual, and set a "default" sort for the chart that updates with different measure selections using bookmarks.
