How to Use ModelBuilder Part 2

Follow
Marcos Luna

Second video in a series on how to use ModelBuilder in ArcGIS 10.3.1 to automate geoprocessing tasks. The goal is to build our model to take Boston 311 data, map the data, aggregate it by neighborhood, calculate a series of normalized indices, and output properly symbolized feature layers. In this video we spatially join the Boston 311 event theme point layer to Boston neighborhoods to get count of the number of Boston 311 reports within each neighborhood. We allocate population data to the neighborhoods by spatially joining and summarizing Census data. Finally we add fields to the output layer to calculate area in square miles, and our indices of reports per square mile and reports per person.
