As the most applied equation in fluid mechanics and dynamics, the derivation of the Bernoulli's equation would be helpful for understanding the equation so for applying the equation in the practical problems. here in the series talks, different derivations of Bernoulli's equation would be given, and the 1st part is the derivation based on the direct physics, in which a streamtube of the flow is studied. We examine the forces acting the fluid segment, and apply the Newton's 2nd law of motion (along the streamline) such that the Bernoulli's equation can be derived.
In this talk, following contents are discussed:
What is the Bernoulli’s equation and why it is so important?
A short history of Bernoulli’s principle and equation
Assumptions for Bernoulli’s equation
Streamlines and streamtube for deriving Bernoulli’s equation
Force analysis acting the fluid segment: a detailed derivation
Dynamics of fluid segment: leading to the Bernoulli’s equation
