We wanted to share what money accounts we have, and how we organize them, as a couple!
Here’s the break down
âž¡ Chequing Account (Simplii Financial) Monthly salary is deposited here, and expenses are paid from here
âž¡ Savings Account (EQ Bank, Wealthsimple Cash) High interest savings account for our emergency funds
âž¡ Investment Account (Wealthsimple TFSA & FHSA) Longterm investments in ETFs; $2,000/month
âž¡ Credit Cards (AMEX Cobalt, Neo Financial & TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite) Cash back and travel reward credit cards that we pay off in full and on time every single month
We also automate everything from contributing to our investment accounts, actually purchasing the investments, and paying off our bills and credit card statements to ensure everything runs smoothly every single month. We keep our finances separate, but we both have the same money system!
