We are the company that developed screw compressors and brought them into commercial use, and we still operate the world’s most advanced centre of excellence for screw compressor technology. We developed the Free Floating Piston concept that dramatically reduces maintenance requirements in reciprocating compressors. In Howden, a philosophy of continuous improvement of products and services is a way of life. Since the earliest days of the LNG industry, we have been the supplier of screw compressors, reciprocating compressors, axial fans and centrifugal fans for virtually every part of the process.
Howden incorporates the originators of diaphragm, twin screw and Roots technologies, and has introduced major improvements in centrifugal and reciprocating compressors. We hold many of the most important patents in the field.

As well that as that we recently invested in opening compressor service centres in multiple countries to make sure that we have engineers close to you.
