HTC Vive Cosmos Elite vs Vive Cosmos: Now the Cosmos makes sense? Or does it?!

Follow
The Provoked Prawn

This is a comparison of the HTC Vive Cosmos Elite and the original Vive Cosmos.

The standard Vive Cosmos has insideout tracking cameras similar to the Rift S which meant that it didn't need extra tracking and could be used anywhere (in theory) BUT the tracking was a bit shoddy and the results were disappointing. The Elite is the solution. But it requires the original Vive controllers and base stations to work.

It's worth noting that the Vive Cosmos Elite comes as either:
The full package https://www.vive.com/uk/product/vive...
Just the headset (for current Vive owners) https://www.vive.com/uk/product/vive...
Just the faceplate https://www.vive.com/uk/accessory/cos...

You need the old Vive controllers and basestations to make it work though
