Located on New Zealand’s longest river ‘The Waikato’ in the Taupo region of New Zealand’s north island, Huka falls is the mostvisited natural attraction in New Zealand.

The Waikato River, which normally flows 100 meter wide before reaching the falls. But when it approaches the falls, it is forced to narrow to just 15 meter wide as it passes through a hard volcanic canyon. This increases the flow pressure immensely, forms the rapids and causing the water to burst out with great force as the gorge ends and forms the Huka falls.

A drive to Huka falls takes around 10 minutes from Taupo town. And it is a free to visit place.
