The GWM Cannon Alpha beats Toyota to the punch, and also becomes the first mainstream ute with a petrolelectric powertrain well ahead of the planned BYD Shark and Ford Ranger Plugin Hybrid models which are due soon.

So is this ute the one to buy? Well, I've done a detailed review on the diesel version which is cheaper and arguably makes a lot more sense for a tradie ute buyer but this really is an important model for GWM as it is the 1st HEV pickup on the market.
