VIDEO DESCRIPTION
This painting tutorial will take you through easy to follow, stepbystep instructions on how to paint this floral ocean landscape image of "Hydrangeas by the Beach". You'll learn some basic painting tricks and techniques that will have you painting a straight horizon line without a ruler, creating multicolored hydrangeas that seem to pop out of the canvas, and painting soft sand that you want to stick your toes into. Using only 3 brushes and 7 colors we'll create these brilliantly blue ball flowers with a rickety wooden beach fence that overlook the seductive distant sand dunes. So let's get painting and let's get sipping!

MATERIALS:
Canvas: 16x20 stretched primed canvas
Brushes: 1/2 flat bristle (large), #8 to #10 round (medium), #1 round (small)
Acrylic Paint: titanium white, green oxide, chrome yellow, burnt umber (brown), mars black, cobalt blue, fluorescent pink
Other: palette, cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEPS:
1. 1/2 inch bristle brush Paint the sky with blue, white and brown
2. 1/2 inch bristle brush Paint the water with brown, blue and white
3. 1/2 inch bristle brush Paint the beach with brown and white
4. 1/2 inch bristle brush Paint the basecoat of hydrangeas with black, blue and pink
5. #8 to #10 round brush Paint the sand dunes with brown, white, yellow, green and black
6. #8 to #10 and #1 round brush Paint the fence with black, brown and white
7. 1/2 inch bristle brush Paint the second layer of the hydrangeas with black, blue, pink and white
8. #8 to #10 round brush Paint the leaves with black, green, yellow and white
9. 1/2 inch bristle brush Paint the highlights on the flowers with blue, pink and white
10. #1 round brush Signature with black
