In this video we'll go over the mechanism of the antiMarkovnikov addition to alkynes in the hydroborationoxidation reaction. This reaction yields aldehydes for the terminal alkynes and ketones for the internal ones. We'll also look at the uses of the bulky boranes to force regioselectivity.
